Myofascial decompression or “cup therapy” is used in the clinic to help patients with a wide variety of injuries to decrease pain and improve mobility. We place plastic or silicon cups onto the body using a suction device to decompress the fascia. Myofascial decompression works to unload and decompress tissue to allow for improved fluid exchange. It works to bring in blood flow and nutrient exchange. It can be used on trigger points, myofasical lines, scar tissue, and works to improve mobility throughout the body.
